One Hung Low!

One Hung Low!
Last week on the radio show Lynn shared the fact that I was having surgery and I want to share the whole experience with all my friends and fellow women golfers with the hopes of helping other women make similar decisions.
Twenty three years ago I was sitting in a plastic surgeons office with my 2 year old son, who had been attacked by our own golden retriever (another story all together), and asked him nervously if he ever did anything with breasts like mine? He calls in his nurse and proceeds to check out my chest. To my horror he smiles and says the right breast hangs down 4 inches lower than the left. AWKWARD! Needless to say I went ahead with a lift on the right breast with implant (nothing was left, Ha Ha) and very small implant on the left to give the same round appearance. I was asked if pictures could go in the American Medical Book. I thought other people could realize that there was hope for “One Hung Low”, so I agreed. At the time I did not realize the issue with silicone implants. I read about a class act lawsuit and called my doctor, He said, “Don’t fix it if it’s not broken”, so I never gave it another thought. Here I am 23 years later, with my right boob moving up my chest, pain, a shoulder injury not healing totally and 2 finger joints aching. It wasn’t until 3 different people said, “What is wrong with your boob? I had seen some changes but too busy to think about it. Needless to say I made an appointment with Dr Giles here in Stuart. He took one look and said that had to come out. WHAT!! What was I thinking? He said I was lucky I got 23 years out of a 10 year. For a moment I thought he was talking about a tire, flat. I guess he was! Dr. Giles did a great job! I opted for saline implants, I did not want any and he said,” I would look silly”. The reason why I chose saline is because when they rupture, you know and the saline solution just gets eliminated as you urinate. My old silicone implants probably ruptured a while back and I never knew. The mess he had to scrape out of me was not pretty. I am on a silicone detox from my Natural Path Physician, my fingers are almost free of pain and I am feeling better. Hopefully this will help other women who may have been born with a grapefruit and an orange! That is what my wonderful sister told everyone as we were growing up. Feel good about yourself no matter what. Love to All, Tracy
