Have Some Basil In Your Dinner Tonight!

Have Some Basil In Your Dinner Tonight!

Thanks to my great friend and member of Ladies Links Fore Golf, Margie, I had the best and most healthy dinner tonight. Margie came in for her work-out today and gave me a baggie full of her home grown basil, yummy! I worked late tonight and got home after 7 and most of you know I always eat by 7. Walked in the door turned a pot of water on to boiling, threw in some of my favorite pasta, (brown rice, quinoa or buckwheat soba), and steamed the asparagus. Threw it all in a bowl, added chopped up basil, tomatoes, olive oil, Himalayan sea salt, garlic and parmesan cheese. Holy cow batman, it was the best dinner ever. I was eating by 7:30. Thanks Margie!
Did you know that the enzyme-inhibiting effect of the eugenol in basil qualifies basil as an anti-inflammatory food that can provide important healing benefits along with symptomatic relief for individuals with inflammatory health problems like rheumatoid arthritis or inflammatory bowel conditions? Basil is also a good source of magnesium. Make your food count! Eat healthy and feel the benefits. Just trying to keep all my friends and fellow women golfers, educated in the food department! Stay healthy and play golf longer! Big Cheers, Tracy
